What
is the Faculty Summer Institute
The Illinois
Online Network (ION) Faculty Summer Institute (FSI) is an annual
conference on learning technologies for faculty and staff from
Illinois
Online Network partner institutions. Included on the program for
this year's FSI are hands-on laboratory sessions in computer
classrooms, discussion sessions and presentations on a wide variety
of topics, round table discussions, an electronic poster session,
and social activities to allow participants to get to know and
learn
from one another.
Each campus will send a team of faculty members and instructional
support personnel to the Institute. The Institute will:
- introduce faculty members to the use of learning
technologies, such as the World Wide Web and asynchronous conferencing,
- create a network for sharing in the development of the curriculum
and use of learning technologies, and
- provide an opportunity for faculty teaching in similar disciplines
