For 33 years I have taught at Lewis and Clark Community College (about
20 miles northeast of St. Louis) where I teach both online courses and
F2F. My educational credentials include a BA from Southern Illinois University
in Edwardsville (SIUE) where I majored in Theater and Speech Communication.
My minors were in English and Dance, with teaching certification (yes,
I was one of those people who just couldn't make up her mind!). My Master's degree
is also from S.I.U.E. in Speech Communication with a concentration in
Interpersonal Communication. I am also ABD (all but dissertation) in Adult
Education from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fl. In March of 2002 I completed my MOT (Master Online Teaching certification). Teaching
is my avocation, as well as my vocation. My mother says I've always wanted
to be a teacher. I also have a great interest in technology and have been
a member of an online community for about 18 years. Combining teaching
and computers was a natural step for me and I'm very pleased to be teaching
for ION to share that enthusiasm.
When I'm not working or taking care of my grandchildren, I love to travel
(visit all those Internet friends) and read (mysteries and sci-fi). I've
also co-authored two speech texts.
